Most people will tell you polymer clay is for crafting small trinkets and jewelry, but Beth Bullman Regula wanted more. By combining it with string, wire, and other media, she has built large layered canvases and freestanding sculptures, packed with tiny details like leaves, seeds, and flowers. Her works often portray some element of the natural world weaving in among fluid human figures, and Beth herself has woven an artist's life in the forest in Spartanburg, SC where her studio sits among the trees. In this short documentary, Beth shares her work, her process, and what she's learned along the way.
Local Takes is a documentary film series from Spartanburg, SC spotlighting southern artists.
