Thoughts in Motion

December 30, 2025

Happy New Year! I start this year on a positive note. The following is the artists statement for an exhibit scheduled for May. More than 60 pieces are in various stages of completion.

Artists Statement for : Thoughts in Motion

This exhibit was begun in 2024 and was originally planned for exhibition in May/June 2026. Because of Hurricane Helene and the resulting damage to our home, I decided to push it into 2027. I was not emotionally ready to continue the work required for this exhibit. Helene’s damage not only on our property but across the region changed me in many ways. My
priorities changed. The works in this exhibit reflect both post Helene and prior Helene reflections that resulted in a piece of art.

All the work represents my thoughts about life and my reaction to it.

My work has been described as lyrical and full of movement. As I work, in many mediums, there is one thing that continues to hold true – the work must express movement. It is important to me to take the viewer on a journey from one plane to another by using line and color.

I have titled this exhibit, Thoughts in Motion. I hope you enjoy your journey.
